cannot find the thread about the missile leaving korean territory and orbiting over japan.
anyway, the host country claim it was purely a communications satellite, whilst the rest of the world considers it to be a weapon of war.
how do we find out who is telling porkies?

What really concerns everyone about this launch is that the North Koreans are capable of doing almost anything to anybody if they have the know how. The idea here was to test the potential for delivering weapons of mass destruction. It clearly made the South Koreans and the Japanese very nervous.
Interesting to note the barren bleak state that North Korea has become. South Korea and indeed Japan thrive in comparison and both embrace capitalism. Communism as employed by North Korea shouldnt be this bad though...the communist principle was good in theory..I saw something in it myself being a one time devotee of Karl Marx( in my young years).

Grown up now though PaulB, seen the error of your ways!
Communism, socialism, maxism, call it what you will, it simply does not work as a social and economic model. I also disagree that there is anything good in theory about it. Communist countries always collapse and even Red China will eventually despite trying to stave it off by allowing free enterprise.
North Korea is indeed a basket case and a regional danger. Eventually the death throes of that political system will endanger South Korea and Japan.

Bring back Gummo. (He never went into the films, becoming a successful agent instead.)
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.
