A good solid win for the Conservatives, a gain from Labour.
Conservative 13,591 = 40% of the vote, majority 7,348
Labour 6,243
LibDem 4,803
UKIP 4,068
Green 3,350
Independent 963
BNP 941
5 other independents and weirdos between them 628
The turnout was 45%
The majority was better than expected and is significantly more than the Labour vote....
The seat has been Labour since 1997 and before that was gained by the Conservatives in 1983 (Labour held it in 1979)
The successful candidate is at 27 the youngest MP and the youngest ever Conservative woman. She is also a bit of a babe
(very bright and formidable too....)
