I have just read on Facebook that Augusta Pearson has been told/asked not to attend tomorrow's Remembrance Service at the War Memorial.
I wonder if this was an official written request or has someone overstepped the mark and privately made the request. Whatever our personal feelings about the lady this is wrong, nobody should be stopped from attending such an event unless there is a very strong reason.

I doubt there is much truth in that, anyone can attend as it is in public.

I suspect we have only been told half the story as usual, apparently she was going to the Eythorne service because of this.
Did you attend this morning Howard? I watched the Cenotaph service on BBC as I always do.

I was there Jan, didn't seem to be as many people there as last year.

River Church was packed .Many Brownies and children from the local school in attendance .A lot of people stayed inside when the wreath laying took place. My legs cant take the strain of standing on a slope .First time I had been able to attend River for Four years,Not a flag in sight.

I thought the event was well attended, 16 out of 18 councillors present, lots of youngsters, cadets etc. and good to see the newly formed RBL branch there with new standard. do not think the original comment has any truth in it. As said elsewhere this is a public event, I think it was probably a personal choice.

Augusta was up at Eythorne yesterday morning. She was invited by Paul, the guy who worked with our Parish Council to get the missing names added to our memorial, to lay some poppies on behalf of a lady whose relative was added this year but who could not make it herself due to having had an operation just a day or so ago.
