I'm just at the tail end of a nasty virus. It wasnt pleasant .Was just beginning to get over it so figured a good sleep-in on sunday morning was the thing to do. Sounded like a good plan to me. But no...it wasnt achievable.
Joe Blogg visitor, staying at the Premier Inn..soon put paid to that one by leaving his dark and miserable BMW car alarm blaring from 5.30 am onwards.Just 40 metres away. As most people this time of year have a window open gasping for a bit of air, the whizz whizz, whizz whizz, of the bl**dy car alarm reverberated around the room completey doing ones nut, and scuppering any chance at all of an extra bit of beauty sleep.
Does anyone come hurtling out of this national chain of hotels worrying about the damage this pollution is doing to local oul fogeys trying to sleep on a sunday morning?? Not at all. The alarm rings ..for hours and hours it rings, nobody checks, nobody looks, nobody comes to stop it ringing. The Hotel itself doesnt give a rats ass what happens outside its doors.
Mid morning it is still going. An ambulance comes to The Gateway and takes an elderly person away. The alarm rings on through all this, making a miserable situation more miserable for at least one patient and their family, and blighting the life quality for everyone else.
Lunchtime it's still going and now its 1.30 pm....til woe..hold the horses...Joe Bloggs has emerged from said hotel and all is at last tranquil. He packs Bloggs family in and drives off..without a care in the world.
Of course live next to a hotel carpark and you ask for it. But I was here first and they should have some duty of reponsibility in local environment matters, but they do nothing. Of course there have been many incidents like this over the years. One tries to complain or whatever initially but in the end you just fatally have to accept more lessening of the quality of life.
