Nuisance Phone Calls

  My partner has been getting calls from 01313 012940 between 3 & 5 times a day for the past two weeks, I have looked the number up and it is IPSOS-MORI. To say this is a nuisance is an understatement.
  
  Sadly they are exempt from the TPS as they are not selling anything.
  
  I have written to them complaining about the nuisance and asking that the unwanted calls stop - lets see what happens. I have also signed a petition here - http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/phone-nuisances/ and would have complained to the ICO but their website is down.
  
  If any of you receive calls from this mod I recommend you also sign the petition etc.

  I had several calls per day from Mori last November, after I politely told them I wasn't interested and they continued, I used to put the phone down and leave them talking to themselves. Funnily enough they stopped. I do the same with any persistent cold callers that manage to sneak through!

  I've taken to saying that I charge £25 plus vat for surveys. It seems to work. However , I will sign the petition.

  Terry: I'll have to try that solution.
  
  My usual response to cold calls like this are along the lines of "Did I invite you to call me? No? Then [unprintable] off!" and hang up. I don't get many repeat calls.

  I got a spate of persistent nuisance calls from India in November that got me aggravated beyond reason to the extent where I actually rang the TPS and BT. Result: nil. Apparently there's nothing the TPS or BT can do about sales calls from overseas numbers. Now, if I see the number come up as international, I just don't answer it.

  i think that if you get BT to stop anonymous(number withheld) calls this will stop the international ones too.
  
  used to cost under a quid a week, worth every penny.
