  Also being in Tower Hamlets as a child there were a fair number of shops on the corners of South Road.
  On the corner of Odo Road - Avery's?
  On both corners of Tower Hamlets Street - one was a grocers - Sladdens?
  
  Don't remember a shop in Ethelbert Road, but always found it a bit creepy along there.
  
  There was also a shop at the corner of Devonshire and Goschen Roads.
  
  I believe there was a chippy along Wyndham Road, but that must have shut before my time.
