  Looking at my larger sized scans the black & white on does show the rails, while the colour one seems to be an artistic adaptation of the black & white one (or one very similar) and the rail lines have been turned into a pavement. The line of the outer rail on one exactly matches the line of the pavement on the other. (The red car looks to have had a nasty accident when you look closely at the enlargement).
  
  As far as I can remember there was never a pavement on that side of the road.
