The salient point of the post was to question whether it was appropriate for anyone (one man, a small crowd?) to seek to influence whose lives the RNLI are justified in trying to save. The implication being that one life is intrinsically more valuable than another.

At least from the video clip we can see that the lifeboat volunteer made the most appropriate response he could - "What a ****". The same thought might well cross anyone with a modicum of empathy's mind.
