  Some people think stupidly that the immigration probem is about race, or colour or even religion.
  
  It is not.
  
  It is about numbers and skills and social cohesion which includes the amount of social capital a community has.
  
  This completely encapsulates the problem. When the indigenous population feels overwhelmed then they begin to blame immigrants for their problems. It’s compounded when the immigrants aren’t assimilated, don’t learn English and don’t appear to be ‘adding’ to the local community. There has to be control of some kind. It’s a hugely complicated issue but not having control will lead to more and more situations of civil unrest, which throwing people in prison won’t solve.
