Bronze age wood working is with us yet. I have witnessed it first-hand. Sikh carpenters (Tarkhans?) still use their hand saws to cut on the back stroke, even with steel tools. The way all such sawing was done with bronze saws.
The picture in the link below, while not so recent, offers a real clue as to how a bronze age carpenter plied his trade...
