  IT IS without doubt a oublicity stunt, but one that parties should watch, there is a real danger for all parties in this, as ALL parties are distrusted at this time.
  
  Its a move trying to catch the eye of the electorate, as barryw knows at the general election people get the chance to vote for any of the candidates of any of the parties, so they all get a say if the want one.
  
  This is not a new idea
  T Blair decided on a diffrent note to hold public forum's some years ago across the country which swayed the govt on some issues.
  Usually these forums would be just labour party members, but he invited anyone whether members of any political parties or even non political.
  
  There was some concern from us lefties at the time of labour party being run by other than its membership, but he ignored that!
  
  Its an interesting one in Totnes as has been said the cost will probably kill it
