when our chief constable was appointed about 5 years ago he made two major points.
1) he made it clear that his skin colour would not be a consideration in his policing and that the subject would never be brought up by him again .
2)he would listen to the concerns of the people of kent and act on that, adding that anti social behaviour and loutishness would get "zero tolerance", how i hate that cliche.
he has now given an interview to the BBC stating that his skin colour means he has to work twice as hard to get promotion in the force. this coincides with the job at"the met" on offer.
how do forum posters feel about the effect his 5 years in kent has made on anti social behaviour and loutishness?
a brilliant bit of political power play from him, i have to admit.
the crux of the matter is, he has put pressure on the powers that be to choose him.
boris johnson would love to endorse him so that boris is seen as an innovative london mayor.
what is the betting on failure being rewarded again?
