  Having been stopped in the street twice, yesterday and today, I would like to point out that the LRCF are still running the Boat Race. The item in the press and Roger's poster imply that DTC are running it.
  
  The Boat Race has been included in the Horticultural/Pet Show for a number of reasons but it is still being run by us. We are providing the the shield and prizes and liaising with the schools.
  
  We benefit by being covered by DTC's insurance and DTC are benefitting by having a free p.a. system as we will be there anyway!

  To help it along this year Terry I will put up £20 for the first boat to stay upright, and £10 for the best looking boat of the day I hope to be there if not I will gave you the cash.

  Many thanks Vic, but I'm sure the £20 is safe, I've never seen a boat stay upright!

  O.k Terry with the above I will add £10 to the boat that does it in the fastish time of the day.
  So some boat could win in totel £40 by the end of the day.

  Terry I do not know that but howard said there was a king vic the first that is all I know but I think I am King Vic the first because I do not think there has been a king of river before, but I do know that Sue would like to be my Queen she does like hats but a crown on her head, I will have to think about that one.
  But back to the boat race i do hope by puting this funding there it might help you get more going for it and get better boats they can make them to stay upright it would help if they put the boats in the River not drop them in like they have been doing over the years but You can turn this again into being very good again all the best with it anyway I can help just aske, but might not get there because of work but it is along way away so we will wait and see.
