  Of course I should expect dissapproval from former colleages for my actions, but even whilst a member of their party they dissapproved of me.
  When I had been a District Councillor for only a few weeks, I had strongly supported Councillor George Allts' campaign to ensure Aldis came to Dover. My reason being that the store was accessable on foot by the residents of St Radigunds,thereby saving them taxi fare equvalent to a days food. When we were successful,despite Labour opposition, many of them Cooperative sponsored Labour councillors, I was told by the local Labour Party secretary'that my actions would always be detrimental to my future political career or words to that effect. Hey ho.
  
  I have absolutely no regrets in becoming a member of the Conservative Party and I was overjoyed at the political demise of Mr Prosser as I will be at his parties lack of success in next years local elections.
