At 6am this morning a well known Shepherd Neame pub on London Rd Dover was raided by uniformed police. They were allegedly searching for illegal substances. The pub has remained closed for the rest of the day. See next weeks local rag for details.
They were probably looking for English Ale Stock Bitter which was recently discontinued by the brewery... another good old beer disappears.

.......and at 5am this morning I got woken from my much needed beauty sleep by the same police when they raided a house a few away from mine. Was quite exciting though, like something you see on Crimewatch!
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

i can visualise that jacqui, like the old "sweeney" programme, where they burst in and say, get your trousers on, you're nicked.
mind you i may have got that confused with a house of commons debate.

It looks as if the basement flat opposite the off licence on London Road has just had a gentlemanly knock on the door by Mr Peel's finest.
Wherever next? Maybe we could start a sweepstake.

The bottom end of Mill Hill in Deal was awash with old bill at lunchtime. Three police cars and a big Transit were there.
