Having four children running around the house about the only chance I get to listen to any of my own prefered music is when I am sitting at this computer. Consequently when I am checking my emails or reading through the forums I tend to have my playlist switched on shuffle to provide background music. I wonder if I am alone in doing this or do other posters have music on and if so does the music have an effect on the tone of your postings? As an example I began typing this to Bob Dylan singing 'Don't Think Twice It's Alright' and am now finishing to Chris Rhea and 'Road to Hell Pt 1, whoops now it is Fairport Convention and 'Walk Awhile' (I must type faster).

what happened to chris rhea?
i believe he had two brothers, dia and goner.
i may be wrong.
Chris, sometimes I type so slowly - or maybe it's that I ponder too long...- that Beethovens 9th has started and ended before me!! And other days I am at the end of the sentence before Tom Waits croaks his last note.........

Ah I know the Road to Hell very well. I first heard it in a pub/club in Wimbledon and asked the proprieor what it was. Bought it immediately afterwards. The whole thing has a very catholic apocolyptic self flagellationistic air to it with shades of Pink Floyd and of course all this suits me very well! Chris Rea's finest work to be sure.

the song was all about the M25 was it not?

Apparently not, Chris Rhea strongly denies the song having anything to do with the M25. This to the theme from "The Prisoner', I do have an eclectic taste in music.

To the sound of Long Train Runnin' by the Doobie Brothers, I am now signing off and going to bed.

Listening to an eclectic mix whilst wowing you all with my intellectual commentary. I have Scissor Sisters, All about Eve, Queen and my dad just introduced me to a wonderful bloke by the name of Peter Cincotti. To name but I few on my list.

and the previous owners are all safely in their padded rooms, all tucked up in their straight jackets. And this from somebody who turned up for the recording of Geoff Loves 'Singalong a' London' (there was free beer).

For free beer I would probably turn out to hear Prince Edward singing Hello Dolly............

If you want to realy chill out, try listening to Mike Oldfield's The Sound of Distant Earth, I can guarantee you won't get far with anything.
Fantastic. If you want a copy I'm sure I can supply.

I will try that one. After loving Tubular Bells I have still not forgiven him for Hergest Ridge.

what about the one in between "omadawn" or something like that.
i thought that was better than "tubular bells".

Acctually, I did like that one but Hergest Ridge was dreadful and as for the too many reworkings of Tubular Bells, the least said the better.
