  Its all politics at the end of the day, and money. If you pay for one thing something else looses out, and costs only keep rising.
  Must admit that idea of a 50p levy on cross channel cars/lorries (foreign) would be a good idea and to put that money into the infrastructure. It would also be good if all the road tax money went on the roads and their upkeep. I know there is the argument of more roads leads to more traffic but at least have the necessary investment in upkeep and maintenance which has been neglected for far too long in what roads we do have.
