    Not sure what the rules are now but I.O's accrued 40/80ths non-contributory pension which was indexed linked.Your final pension was based upon the average of your last 3 years of service. So for the last 2 years of your service you tried to do as much overtime ,weekend and Bank Holiday work (all paid at time an' half or double time) as possible to boost your final pension. Plus your golden handshake normally equivalent to 12 months salary... ah the Good old days.
