Don`t forget, even though the pier cafe is currently closed, there`s excellent viewing at the end of the pier with always something going on. On this wonderful hot summer`s day, there were two cruise ships alongside, the vessels dealing with the removal of that sunken wreck, yacht`s coming in, various ships out in the channel, the coast of France, and last but not least, an endless procession of ferries going in and out, all on that lovely sheet of calm water. I selected the above picture out of 17 down there today, the David Church, an everyday trip, but on a day like today, just looks so majestic gliding through the water. And a nice seafood salad from the stall up the clock tower afterwards.
