    That he failed to do so when faced with an inept chairman, a loaded panel and a broadly hostile audience shows how intellectually empty he and his parties agenda really is.

    As for the others on the panel the only 2 who came out of it with any semblance of credit were Straw and Huhne; Baroness Warsi was awful, descending into what was little better than playground exchanging of insults and Bonnie Greer is a "merkin". The audience seemed to me to be a fair representation of London and tends therefore to suggest that broadly the BNP has little support. What should concern the politicians is getting to the roots of why do, what are predominately white working class communities, feel so disenfranchised from the main stream parties that the BNP seems like a decent answer to their problems.
