Ross, having watched it my view, and it seems most of the media commentators, is the opposite view to you as to which panelists did well.

Straw waffled and Chris Huhne was ineffective whereas the two ladies were very good indeed with Wasi putting Straw in his place when he was waffling away trying to deny Labour were responsible for the rise of the BNP. I loved Bonnie Greer's body language and her oh-so-polite distain of 'Nick'.

Even Labour supporters agree about how poor Straw was: http://www.labourlist.org/i-was-wrong-about-jack-phillip-honour-bnp

You might want to see Jon Snow's view of how the panelists performed: http://blogs.channel4.com/snowblog/2009/10/23/why-despite-the-women-the-bnp-won/

I have read several more along the sames lines. It seems that the ladies excelled.
