Just a heads up for those of you who have to use the trains RMT have called a strike for Monday and Tuesday on southeastern trains.
Southeastern have published an emergency timetable which can be viewed here

07:126307I have had some info through from the Rail management and they believe this strike to be "unjustified".
It is about two issues
1. Pay. Southeastern have offered the workforce 4.3% pay deal which has been rejected.
2. Southeastern plan to create a new well paid post of onboard manager on their class 395 trains. This would result in the loss of 45 guard jobs but create 90 new onboard manager jobs.
The unions have rejected all this, hence the strike. The above is just the info I have to hand, I dont know the unions slant on this.

12:286313I understand the strike has been called off,not that it would have made any difference to me as my Union said I had to work,35 years and never been asked to strike,so much for militant unions, seriously the news was released on the radio at 10.00.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

12:416314JHG i have just been to your link and yet again both sides of the dispute are telling slightly different slants on the facts. It is just like the strikes within Royal Mail he who spins best wins.

As your in TSSA you could(As I encouraged you over the years)to join the RMT who at least do stick up for its membership.
A lot of TSSA members(not all) join TSSA purely so they don't have to strike and get al the benefits.
this is a realy big debate so wont go into that tonight.
gd luck RMT if the dispute does go ahead

17:546484I'd like to thank the railworkers for not striking these last two days. As I use the train every day it would have seriously inconvenienced me, which I appreciate is part of the reason why people strike but considering the rain today I'm quite glad it didn't happen. So thanks guys.
