Just been reading a news item here on yahoo, which tells us that the government is setting up a committee to look into the transport problems caused by last Winters cold and snowy weather. The most snow in London for 19 years, and the coldest overall for the last 30 years. So what? Other countries of the world have it regularly, year in year out, why don`t they ask the experts what they do? As I`ve said before on here, you can`t go buying a fleet of snowploughs and 100,000 tons of salt for a harsh Winter that may not occur for another 20 year`s. Waste of tax payers money. Yes people were caught out last Winter and suffered delays etc, but shouldn`t the private companies have their own contingency plans without the need for yet another government committee?
