    Yes the fireworks went ahead as scheduled but the crowds were down somewhat on the previous display at the Bleriot weekend. As Howard mentioned above quite a few people gave them a miss folowing the tragedy which did put a damper on the event. The fireworks themselves were very good considering that the Regatta do not have the same level of budget. I will have pictures of the fireworks on the frontpage in due course for those interested.

    It was a quieter regatta today. There didnt seem to be any music, clearly there was no powerboat racing of any kind, and the RNLI did their display hampered somewhat by the lack of the usual accompanying helicopter, this made it less spectacular but nevertheless its always good to see them do their thing. The skydivers landed on schedule and in the right place and the sleepy sail past was okay too.

    Right now as I look out most of it is all packed away for another year. ..everthing gets dismantled so fast. The event was blessed with good weather this time and was very successful, apart sadly from the tragic events of yesterday.
