    I was given this interesting information by ex-forumite and local history buff Paul. It is such a great shame that he left he has so much historical knowledge of the area.................

    Kitchener and Haig were names of WW1 military camps on the site of Pfizer which later became refugee camps after WW2..... (Cowan Camp was nearer to Richborough 'secret port' and Stonar Camp nearer Sandwich).....
