    (1740 Wingham Division Ale Licences:
    (Kent Co.Archives ref:  KAO - QRLV 3/1)
    (There will be many other years of licences which can be consulted), 
    these are renewals of Ale Licences in 1740, for Wingham Licensing Division, with a few "N" meaning a New Licence (ie not a renewal):  Renewals written down as 8s;  new ones 16s.
    Note:     Some of these inns/pubs are likely to have changed their name since 1740,
