Paul, yes, that's the only colliery building still standing, I'm looking at it out of the window of my ex-miner's cottage as I type! The houses on the lower side of Stonehall that look 1930ish were all built at the same time as the colliery to house the miners.
Dover Transport Museum used it for storage for a while, they may still do, and there are some modern cottages behind the screen of Leylandii. You can also just make out a mound behind it that was the water reservoir.
Next year is the centenary of the completion of the colliery, we're trying to arrange some sort of celebration in the village and GaryC introduced to some of his friends at Aylesham who have lots of Kent coalfield information that will help.
Kath, your pictures are both of Canterbury Road, one looking down on what is now (or was!) The Hope, and the other looking at it from the Dover end - I haven't seen either before. The thatched cottage is still there.
