Drinking too much tea, increases the chances of getting rheumatoid arthritis, recent research suggest`s, (not prove`s). Just another crappy news item on yahoo which I don`t always bother reading about, but my point is, how many people are actually employed to do these irritating survey`s in the first place? This latest survey on tea drinking incidently, comes from a research group in the coffee drinking country of the U.S. ! Maybe with this BP episode, we can retaliate by having some group over here to find something that coffee does by drinking too much of it? I suspect though that that survey has already been done.

i thought that tannin in tea caused loss of fluid in joints.
you would have to drink an awful lot, tea is one of the safer beverages, tony benn used to have a pint mug in the commons canteen, it was filled up 40 (yes not a typo) times a day.
experts said that he was liable to be mildly addicted to caffeine and it might cause minor health problems eventually.

I just wonder how, in this age of nations being in such heavy debt, funding for this kind of research jibberish can be justified.
True friends stab you in the front.

You maybe right Howard, but to me, it`s putting the frightener`s on gullible people as to what they should, or should not be eating.

you're right colin, a recent report from somewhere in scandinavia warned of the link between processed meats like bacon, ham and sausage and various forms of cancer.
they never said what percentage the risk increased by so just caused people to panic.
i do not know of anyone other thans muslims and jews that do not eat the above.

The strange thing is though Howard, and I`ve never seen it mentioned anywhere`s, is that though we`re living longer, it`s the actual people brought up on lard, dripping, butter, fried breakfast`s, etc who are having longer life. Now they`re being told those things aren`t good for them!

post number 7 sums it up for me.
i was a kid during the london smogs, surrounded by factories belching out stuff that burnt the stuff on the washing line, smoked all my life and still here now.
Exactly. It isn't rocket science to work out what is bad for your body! The important things are around courtesy, living life properly and enjoying life! I am about to float out on my 3rd glass of a rather lovely white wine after a bloody tough week at work! feel those arteries clog! Reel to the feel of that liver contracting! Work out exactly how many fingers your imaginary friend is holding up!
Personally I'd rather have rheumatoid arthritis than be dead!

Bob, I really quite like your posts.
They're all out to get us aren't they! It's all well and good for some to spout 'individualism' whilst subscribing to 'royalism' or other ridiculous ideas that fly in the face of self determination..but you don't, well done!
Keep it up!

Bob, I suspect from reading your link above, and from that bit in inverted comma`s that people claiming social security mustn`t declare that they smoke and drink coffee?
