    Quite right Howard, I live in Whitfield but there is no way I would call it a village. It really isn't even a closely knitted community. A village is precisely how you describe it anything else is a suburb of a town
    Sue,River forms part of Dover and as such is controlled by DDC, a parish council is a waste of money and should be disbanded.
