  Dear Member,
  There are numerous stories from a variety of sources concerning the Riverside Centre.
  
  As you are all aware there have been difficulties over the past 3 months with respect to staffing levels. This is a combination of Staff Leaving ,staff sickness, staff holidays and other issues that remain ongoing. We hope that this situation will soon be resolved and that the Riverside Centre will continue to provide a much needed and loved service.
  
  The Riverside Centre remains a viable and vibrant Age UK Centre and as such we want to continue to provide the best facilities in order for you to enjoy your time spent there. To date the hairdressing/chiropody room has been refurbished and the front of the building redecorated.
  
  The recent questionnaire completed at the Centre indicated that many of you were unhappy with the toilet facilities As a result the Disabled and men's toilets have been rejuvenated and now comply with current Government guidelines and are much cleaner and user friendly. The plan is to revamp the ladies toilets next.
  
  In spite of what's been reported or said there are NO plans to close the Centre.
  
  Contrary to some reports there is no plans in the foreseeable future to charge you to attend the Riverside Centre. The charges currently in place remain for transport , catering and other ancillary services such as chiropody and hairdressing.
  
  We will provide you with a report of the activity of the centre over the past year including financial reports at our next AGM. The last AGM was held in October 2017 so our next one will be held around the same month and we will inform you of the actual date nearer the time.
  
  The trustees hope that this short update will emphasise the future viability of the Riverside Centre and thank you for your continuing support.
