  This could so easily have ended as a tragedy, well done to all the rescue services.
  
  The big question to me is why were this group out walking so late in the evening.

  Unbelievable that responsible adults get children in their charge into such a dangerous situation not knowing the area/tides etc.
  
  The school should make a hefty donation to the RNLI.

  We have a situation where the Department of Education and Hackney Council have known about for 5 years and nothing has been done. Unqualified teachers and the only subject is religious texts spoken in Hebrew and Yiddish. The lessons are 17 hours a day in cramped and squalid conditions, the children leave without any qualifications and most unable to speak English. 11 other schools in the Borough are equally culpable so surely parents of these children should be prosecuted for child abuse?

  Would that come under the remit of both education department and home office? Certainly agree there should be prosecution's, it would be branded anti-Semitic of course!

  If the parents do not want their children to receive a good all round education that includes English, which I always thought was a compulsory subject, maybe they should go to live elsewhere somewhere like Israel.

  When I lived in Ilford there were two synagogues one orthodox and the other progressive and the kids from the former always looked washed out most with pebble lens glasses and some with hearing aids due to the inbreeding endemic in their culture. Most Jews from the progressive side see the others as weirdos.
