Thank you Harry for setting the record straight.I know and understand how hard you all work at the mill and have always approached the Parish Council and indeed me as a District Councillor in a respectful manner.Im sorry about the Carol Service as It was popular .I think we have to be careful with events there is only so much time and money to go round .I was sad that i did not attend the Dickensan event but as I do not have transport its a long way to walk in icy conditions .If someone had offered me a lift I would have happily have spent a few hours with you all at the mill .The old income stream is not so good these days .

DT1 you and I will never agree re River being a village .In no way do i say I live in Dover .Once i get beyond Crabble Junction Im home in River v.You also lost the context of what I was saying .Yes the Rec does provide an opportunity for young people to grow healthy etc etc .My arguement is the Parish Council only have a certain amount in the pot and unless River residents pay even more council tax there is not enough money to go round .The rec takes a huge amount of money .The Parish Council now close the gates early so you cant even take a short cut to the mill .
District Councillors each get £1000 which goes into a pot alongside of County members .Sadly everyone thanks County members but £2000 goes in to this pot from Cllr Richardson and myself so if the Mill wanted a grant they have to apply .I think Harry being the true gentleman he is has explained the MIlls position well .Let us not stir up trouble where ther is none .Good luck to the Mill for 2010.
I know Roger and his efforts for thwe Mill are appreciated ,
