I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Sad news
I did go to Charlton church where she was one of the leaders
she welcomed me in and chatted for sometime
More recently even with her own ills she still asked aboutmy mums health in great detail
RIP Ronnie

It is very sad to hear of the death of Ronnie Philpott. Back in those pleasant days when I used to cover the various mayoral events, I met Ronnie when she became our Mayor and we had numerous joyous photo moments ...and here's one of them..
The picture was taken outside Marks and Spencer when they were celebrating 100 years of being in this town...and Ronnie was doing the necessary with some champagne, a ribbon, and an essential scissors.
Condolences to the family.

Ronnie was never really political, she just wanted what was best for her people,Tower Hamlets, and Dover. She was a scout leader and both my girls loved her there, and she was friends with my Step father always gave him a hug at Charlton Church and kept an eye on him after we lost our Mum, then after I resigned she became a Town Councillor and Mayor, I served with her at the Town Council and her love of people shone through. Thoughts are with Chris and all her family. RIP Ronnie x
