  Well indeed Bush had a very beligerent policy towards the rest of the world in general, alienating vast swathes of the planet. Obama may have a chance of improving relations with many including Russia. I think its more useful for all of us to have Russia in the fold rather than outside. They are a rich resource of all sorts of stuff we need...including oliogarchs by the look of it (where would football here be without them).
  
  As we have abandoned our own resources we need to trade with somebody to get them, Russia is the likely trading partner for years to come if all goes well.
