To my knowledge, one of the few (if not the first) occasion when a cruise ship has entered via the Western entrance. I presume this is only possible for the smaller vessels. Perhaps Fred. Olsen's Black Prince did so in the past?
Both the Pride of Canterbury (crossing the Western entrance) and the Pride of Burgundy spent the night off the port, so presumably it was a quiet night on the ferries. A chance for the crew to watch the football!

Oh blimey lovely picture that one Scotchie. Spot on with that one. All the boxes ticked there. It almost looks like one of those old style travel posters. All you need is the Bleriot plane overhead to make it complete..

Saga Pearll II arrived via the Western entrance in the morning - normally the cruise ships enter via the Eastern and then make their way across the harbour.
p.s. not sure why my photos are not appearing - they were OK on the preview and my PC but don't appear to be showing on the Forum. Any ideas?

Hi Kevin
the usual difficulty with pictures not apearing is generally because they are too big. Max size 2MB. Its always best to resize pictures where possible for easy loading...keep the same shape but make smaller. Many programs do this and many cameras too...and of course they must be jpegs.
When this uploading device was built it was quite good but with the ever expanding increase in cameras with large amounts of pixels at their disposal..it has made things a tad more difficult keeping within the 2MB, thats one of the problems anyway. Anyway..keep trying. Your almost there.
I find that "cropping" photos with a picture editor can dramatically reduce the file size without necessarily hacking great lumps off the picture.
Microsoft Photo Gallery does this very easily and usually the software that comes with the camera will do too.
Remember to save the edited file under, "SAVE AS", change the file type to JPEG, and that's all there is to it.

OK here is another go at posting a picture of the Saga Pearl II arriving through the Western entrance on Sunday morning. Let's see if it works this time!

I didn't think they got up to that sort of thing on a Saga ship, Colin!
Here's another attempt at uploading the photo.
