I believe that the point that should be made, is that whether it's the District or Town Council that take over loos, the cost to the public will still be the same - they won't pay twice.
I don't think the residents are particularly worried who pays for the toilets (Town or District), so long as they are open and running.
I'm not sure I understand why these scare-stories are being put about.
If the Town Council (as many people want) are to take over more and more responsibilities
why all the grumbles ?
Does the Town Council not want to have more things brough to a more local level ? More responsibilities mean just that; people won't pay twice, DDC won't charge for services they aren't providing.
We must support the Town Council in taking over more and more.
