16:4534596I see there are plans afoot to open a second Sangatte camp.
Why cannot the French process asylum claims themselves, offering safe haven to those who need it and returning those who do not? Because they want us to have the problem?
Poor old Dover - this can not bring any good to us. Will the last person to leave turn out the lights as I think there is no future here.

18:4934601i do not know how they get away with it, i thought we were now all run by the same people in brussels.
the dodgy ones will continue forever travelling to the north french coast, as they know that they will get food and some sort of roof over their head until they reach england.

07:4534625I think this is madness. The French must be blind - they ought to be looking after and securing their Eastern borders.
There should be no one in Calais who has travelled across Europe seeking a safe haven - they're ALL safe havens; the first safe haven they come to should be just outside their own country, which ever that is.
Harry had a great idea a few months ago, about rounding them all up and because the vast majority are Afghans, train them in the French Foreign Legion and send them back to fight for their own Country.
Why should our soldiers die and be maimed fighting for their Country, when these guys could be doing that ?

10:4734631the french have to get shot of them roger, unemployment in the nord pas de calais region is rocketing, the last thing they need is outsiders making the place look desperate.
although it is charities that provide sustenance, the hard up amongst the locals believe that government money is being spent to support them.
much easier to turn a blind eye and let them come here.

19:0234658Let it be known, that our freight railway has not recovered from the influx of this lot a few years back. EWS, (now DB Schenka) lost alot of business which has not returned. British drivers and groundstaff jobs have been lost, and it`s French incompetance to blame.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

i have great sympathy for anyone losing their job because of circumstances completely beyond their control.
