  I see from the mercury websitehttp://www.eastkentmercury.co.uk that the schools secretary Ed Balls has said he will visit Dover. Brave man after what he said (or is reported to have said) about some of our excellent local schools. Let's hope he keeps his promise!

  Good! A very irresponsible announcement made on behalf of our government, that clearly don't understand what is going on around them. Good on Gwyn for making a stand. It does expose the crazy situation that we are faced within Kent, especially around Dover.

  All I'm aware of his him having a go at selection where he should have been more forthright in attacking centralised targets that take no account of specific local circumstances.
  
  That so many schools that are highly regarded by OFSTED should be under threat like this shows the idiocy of the central targets. We all know, however, that Balls real target are the Grammars. He wants to stir up trouble for them.
