  The term 'Life Sentance' is just a token term as almost nobody serves life up until the very bitter end..the Moors murderers have though as i recall, Brady still inside, Hindley died there, but so many are out on the streets or queing beside you in the supermarket!
  
  The point Im making is that its common practice to let 'lifers' out early. In extreme cases where the public wont wear it, it may not happen. These non released few is often as a result of lilly livered politicians worried about their careers more than anything else. You saw this kind of dithering over Ronnie Biggs recently. First no...then yes, but it was right to let Ronnie Biggs out.
  
  The Scottish government clearly underestimated the amount of feeling there is on the Megahi situation as the furore is enormous.
