I've been saying this ever since that angled parking was put in, Colin. It's just bloody dangerous, and when there's parking on both sides of the road there isn't enough width for two cars to pass each other. I believe that the reason for changing from side-on parking to nose-on parking was motivated by nothing less than greed - the more you can cram in, the more revenue is generated, and bugger the consequences.
I believe that one of the recent accidents on the seafront was simply because the driver of the car just couldn't see the bike against the background; I checked it out myself the day after it happened and you really did have to look hard to see oncoming cars, let alone bikes, and when there are motorhomes parked in the bay nearest the junction, the view of the road is really obscured, and imho dangerously so.
