Part of the problem is that, coming from the Western End to the Eastern end, outside the Yacht Club, the pavement widens, and at the same time there is a bollard in the middle of the road. If cars are parked on the land side round about there, vehicles of all kinds have to pass on the wrong side of the bollard. I cannot see any real reason for it to be there.
It is true that people use Marine Parade as a race track, not only people on bikes, but also "boy racers" in their cars. I cannot see what pleasure they can take or advantage they gain by doing 50 miles an hour from Eastern to Western end.
As a general thing there is not a considerable amount of traffic on this road, mostly people, I think, going to work at Harbour House, or visiting us or Marine Court Hotel. Obviously there is more when the weather is good and at weekends.
Although, having said that, there were 15 camper vans parked there last night!
