Here she is..the Pride of Calais nursing her old bones into Dover Harbour for the last time at 3.20pm yesterday. No bands to see, no fanfare, no dancing girls, no fireworks..instead just carrying a workaday full load, so much so that there are two extra trucks on the bow as is often seen. So no rest or respite right up until the last minute..still in the thick of it.

Later they wheeled her over to the cruise liner pier, making way for the newer younger ones to take over the mainstream, once the Braemer, a last straggling cruise liner got out of the way... over she went...as seen in Scotchie's pic above...
    and now below....

Glad all liked the Calais pictures..unusual view, you dont see it like that very often..look at today for example..grimmm

As the Pride of Calais rolled into the harbour for the last time..the seal appeared under my window and the Spitfire arrived overhead..didnt know where to point the camera. It was as if they had all come out to bid the old girl farewell. I managed to snap a couple of shots of both seal and Spitfire...if they are any good when i take a look, will put them up later but just snatched at those, was focused on 'the Calais'. She is still at the cruise liner pier as i write.
