One interesting observation..have you noticed how clean the Pride of Calais is in the pictures above. All spic and span and looking immaculate for what she is. Usually this time of the year the ships will look a tad weather-beaten, with rusty bits and so on, but 'the Calais' has none of that. Looks like they may have a viewer calling with an option to purchase. Its a bit like selling a car isnt it..you give it a considered wipe-over before the customer arrives. Could be...could be...

Here is the seal that paid us a visit on saturday to say goodbye to the old girl...

Not hugely clear.. so as TV chefs regularly say...here's one I made earlier!.same seal(?) same place...but taken earlier in summer.

Picture below taken on saturday shows the remainder of the P&O fleet, minus the all new Spirit ships. Way over on the left resting against the outer pier is The European Seaway, in the middle is Howard's and Brian's least favourite..the Pride of Burgundy and on the right the Pride of Kent. The plaque above in Howards picture is baffling..could it be a restaurant award..Cuvee means vintage doesnt it, learnt that from all my years looking at wine labels.. !!
