Definitely a Fed dot Olsen there Tom several times. Well done with the link. There was a continental footballer on TV last week with the surname Fred..that was a first for me as i never heard of it previously used as a surname, and now here we are again, and there was i thinking they were just little ol' Freddie Olsen and Co.
The above picture was taken yesterday and it shows the Police back patrolling the harbour. Good to see that the swinging axe of government cuts has not eliminated these guys from the scene here in Dover. After all its a titanically busy Port with a lot happening and we need it policed. The guys here rolled gently by in drizzle and mist, I had to boost the picture a little so we could see it properly.
I guess that's them too in the recent picture of The Braemer above. I hadn't realised that at the time.

And now a bit of Sea(front) News to supplement the Sea News.
A couple of months or so ago during the extreme cold spell I put a picture on the old frontpage of somebody sleeping all night in the seafront shelter, this was taken during the abysmally cold weather. Here it is again here...
Bitterly cold. The reason I am putting it up again is because of this following picture..
Yes the person is still sleeping out rough in the seafront shelter, the last picture above there was taken yesterday.. he/she has indeed endured a horrible winter as the weather yesterday was still cold and wet again. The rough sleeper is not there everyday. Not there today for example, but does re-appear from time to time.
The reason behind using the pictures above is to try and draw attention in our own small way to the plight of the homeless during these cold miserable times...in the hope that someone in authority somewhere might see something on here and take action overall in general terms to help the homeless.

The AIDA LUNA was in yesterday but I was unable to get a picture into the near distance due to the mist and light rain all day.
It left in a blaze of misty lights last night at 9PM on the dot...the ships show their full bulk at night somehow. It looked enormous as it blazed out in the dark.
