Good info and pix lads always good to see.

Gosh its been a busy few days at the Port..thousands of passengers disgorged throughout the weekend and it goes on today with the arrival of the gorgeous MSC Poesia which was launched right here in Dover by Sophia Loren a few years back. Now you have a great excuse to pop down to the seafront today sunday to enjoy the ambience...you sometimes have to pinch yourself that all this exotic machinery is actually here.

I have a few pictures to get up so here goes.
In the midst of all this breath-taking glamour the working guys still tarry on..
here we have the Star First arriving yesterday with a very full load...and speaking as 'landlubber extraordinaire' ..she appears to be ruffling up the seabed as she does so, look at the water discolouration..with the help of the tugs.

and now below we have the quiet departure yesterday of the Ryndam in the blustery grey conditions of late afternoon/early evening. This liner most definitely not too flashy...more the solid, chunky and dependable type..slipping past the rear window in quiet style.

and then the later departure of the ultra sleek but huge at the same time.. Norwegian Star..not slipping by the rear window as above but heading straight for the exit as a misty sun starts to reappear.

and now for the pictures taken a short while ago this morning at approx 5.15am. The MSC Poesia, almost 93,000 tons in size...a huge ship, approaching out of the marvellous early sun. it all looked terribly exotic for a short while.

    and last but not least

the MSC Poesia in all her splendour arriving into the harbour.
    Very welcome to Dover.
