Fascinating set of pictures again Ed. It looks a very large dock area over there in Dunkerque.. am looking forward to seeing it all in a few weeks time, and even seeing a tall ship or two, thats if I will be able to find them tall ships in the vast harbour. Interesting to see the Nuclear Power station at Gravelines. The French dont seem to be quite as sensitive about nuclear power as we are..or as the Germans are as they the Germans have got rid of nuclear power altogether as I understand it.
Am looking forward to the first trip on DFDS as well.
Will get pictures of it all..ermm all being well.

Howard..lol!! the good news is The Constellation is returning to Dover very soon..in the next couple of weeks I believe...you will be overjoyed to photograph it again I'm sure! Quite a striking ship as you can see in Ed's picture there but of course not everyones cup of tea.

Here is an extra pic of it...I only have the one for some reason and the colour looks a bit funny..
this is from quite a while ago

Yes indeed the Disney Magic is...well...magic.
Beautiful sleek lines, hugely reminiscent of those heady days of transatlantic liner travel..of Cunards Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Mary, and of champagned streamer departures from Jazz Age New York and so on. Here is another picture of it immediately below as supplied by our good friend John Mavin.. he sent it over for the former frontpage a few years back.
    Many thanks to John Mavin.

Look at the magnificent finish on that ship.I dont think the Ryndam is quite in this category myself...
..a different kettle of fish altogether.
