    It's a bloody stupid decision - no one objected to BR Sealink, RMT or SeaFrance running services, all of which were state funded and subsidised, or when PO 'merged' with Stena Sealink to run a near monopoly on the crossings. The more Ferry firms that operate the cross channel route the better. Better for Dover, better for the paying public and better for the Port itself.

    Once upon a time the Tories were champions of business and free trade, not so now it would seem...
