    Speaking personally I think the MFL issue is a bit of a red herring. The real fly in the ointment from a competition viewpoint is the degree of vertical integration in the tunnel business, where Eurotunnel both own the infrastructure and operate the services. This is analogous to P&O owning the port of Dover, which of course we would all see as unacceptable. By merely banning MFL, the competition tsars are ignoring the elephant in the room.

    I understand the argument against MFL and it might be right; but righter still would be to make ET divest itself of the shuttle operation, now that would really level the playing field.
