Excellent group of pictures there Ed..man on the spot. Great stuff!
Good to see the safety evacuation procedures underway, Passengers like to know what to do in an emergency for sure...I myself am a tad jittery about that sort of thing but better to know what to do.
Well done Ed. Keep them coming.

Talking about the bad weather Mark.
Today (you will be pleased to hear but Im sure you know already)... is the Longest Day of the Year.
Its all downhill from here. From today the nights start drawing in. Can you adam and eve it !!!??
    Chilling downer isnt it..
To say the summer has all been very disappointing so far is an understatement.

    Also today.
the fabulous CARNIVAL LEGEND is in harbour. it was already in situ by 5am prior to my elevation from slumber. The problem is I cant get a decent picture of it at the moment, conditions are very grey and foggy so unable to do it justice as we stand, but hopefully things will improve later for a picture or two...suffice to say that it is very impressive and the size of the proverbial football pitch. Brilliant. Any ship lovers wanting to come down to the harbour and look wont be disappointed.
Isnt it brilliant that we are getting ships like this..you have to say.

I sometimes see super liners going down the channel at late evening..heading for Southampton or Le Havre...but we are holding our own here in Dover.

So without a picture of a ship at the moment I will add a picture of a new arrival to the Dover Straits location..

There you are. This little feller was born on Millers ( Premier Inn ) roof. There were initially two of them but one guy being frail didnt make it. Odd choice of location for nesting I would think as it looks very vulnerable to hawk and scavenger attack...but so far so good. And as we say about our own kids, dont they grow up so fast!
