This is the last of my quick 1:48 scale builds. I have depicted an aircraft from No 1832 Naval Air Squadron, RNVR, based in Culham 1950. The Seafire is a navalised version of the Spitfire that flew off carriers.
Quite pleased with the build.
I will now be moving on to the larger 1:32 scale kits, I have 10 in my stash to build. These will take a lot longer and have a lot of extra detail. The first one I build will be a P40 Tomahawk of 112 Squadron RAF, Egypt 1942.
Someone asked about size... to put that into perspective here is a pic of the Seafire with a 6 inch ruler
The Seafire and Spitfire, in real life, are about the same size as the P40, both single engined fighters. Just to show how much bigger the next batch of kits I am building are here is the Seafire (1:48 scale - 1 inch on model is 4 feet), alongside the lower wing piece of the P40 which is 1:32 scale.
Finally - here they are, to show how the Spitfire changed over the years. The Mk1 from 1940 alongside a Seafire Mk XVII from 1950...
